Meor is an avid learner who has mastered multiple musical instruments, various cuisines, and many glorious pursuits of diverse ingenuity. He recently graduated from University of Alberta, Canada in BSc Petroleum Engineering. As a science and technology advocate, he joined MSTC to meet like-minded Malaysian students outside of Canada. He hopes that MSTC is able to create a sustainable, long-lasting impact on participants' knowledge of technology. With his experience as President of University of Alberta Malaysian Students' Association and National Finalist of 2018 SciNapse Undergraduate Science Case Competition, he has the necessary skills and knowledge to lead MSTC 2018 to reach new heights and breakthrough!
Azrai Azmi
Azrai is a first year undergraduate student who is pursuing an MEng degree in mechanical with aerospace engineering at the University of Southampton. His experience includes acting as the design engineer in the F1 in Schools competition and qualifying for the international level in Abu Dhabi. After being a participant of MSTC 2017, he felt that this was an excellent platform for students to learn about technology. He aims to enhance the interactive component of the conference for the participants and change their perspective on different areas of technology.
Zhi Chao Yeo
As a first year Economics student in UCL, Zhi Chao joined the team because he believes that everyone, regardless of their profession, can and should take part in understanding, realising and developing new technology. He aims to provide a different perspective for the team especially from the economics side so that the conference can be further diversified. His knowledge in the finance and economics field is reflected in his achievement in Hult Prize at UCL and EY Business Challenge 2018. Additionally, he aspires to enhance the interactiveness and the inclusivity of the conference by injecting new elements that are previously untouched and unheard of.
Zhi Ling Lim
As a final year student who is completing her law degree in King’s College London, Zhi Ling believes that more focus should be put into understanding technology and its utilization to develop other non-scientifically related industries. Her involvement in various organisations has given her various insights which helps her lead the research and strategy department. She hopes to make MSTC an interactive and impactful conference. Fun fact - she favours outdoor sports such as parasailing and jet-skiing!
Ng Miao Ling
For the preliminaries, Miaoling absolutely loves conferences. She has handled multiple conferences including TEDx University of Leeds where she was exposed to primarily Legal Technology. Inspired, she would like to understand how technology can impact different industries, and how should we arm ourselves with skills to stay ahead of the trend. She is a firm believer of team culture. She thinks what makes a great team is the relationship that members’ share, and the willingness to go an extra mile to increase team efficiency. She is keen to take up responsibilities as that allows her to understand her strengths and weaknesses, as well as learning how to better communicate and compromise.
Ka Shing Liong
Ka Shing believes that technology is something everyone sees and hears, but few understands. The game-changing innovations that recently hit the market wowed many with their convenience, but not many know about how these technologies came to be. With this in mind, he is keen on bringing MSTC to students looking to test the waters with the technology sector. He hopes to build MSTC 2018 upon the successes of its predecessors and continue to connect students to the industry. This second year Electronics and Electrical Engineering student at UCL codes odd programs during his free time!
Nadhihah Jaafar
Nadhihah is a chemical process engineering graduate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. She is currently the Vice President of Student Platform For Engineering Education Development (SPEED), which is a non-profit organisation that intends to web engineering students around the world. She believes that the best way to find a solution towards trending problems is to eat, live and breathe with the affected local community. Therefore, she has been actively participating in several local and international projects as well as volunteering programs in South Korea, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey and more. She hopes MSTC will be a notable success recognised by not just Malaysians in the country and abroad, but also in the international community in terms of its sustainability and impact towards the participants.
Lee Zong Hao
Zong Hao, a first year Chemical Engineering student at Imperial College London, is aware that technology will be an integral part of our future. He hopes to play a part in raising awareness of the importance of technology among Malaysian students by joining MSTC. As the Internal Affairs and Performance Co-Director of ICMS, he has developed leadership and networking skills to help him with negotiation and pitching to sponsors. As a fun fact, he plays competitive frisbee too!
Ru Quan Phuah
Ru Quan, who is also our head of human resource, is a second year undergraduate who is pursuing BSc (Hons) Architecture in the University of Bath. He joined MSTC with the strong belief that it will be a great platform to learn and to share as well as to work with a team of talented people across different time zones. He is passionate in issues on education and ways of building the environment. With his skills and experiences in various events such as the University of Bath’s Architecture and Civil Engineering Society and Taylor’s College Classroom Xperience (CXP), he hopes to redefine what a student conference can be and brings impact by inspiring others with new perspectives and ideas.
Yin Jue Chang
Studying her first year in Experimental Linguistics at UCL, Yin Jue believes that it is important for students to equip themselves with relevant technology skills in order to survive in the competitive world today. She realise the importance of MSTC to promote awareness among Malaysian students and give them insights of technological development in Malaysia. The past experiences of this food lover in A-level Student Council and UCL Malaysian Night have equipped her with relevant design and marketing skills to publicize MSTC and attract people from all backgrounds to join.
Brandon Lim
Brandon is a third year Chemical Engineering student in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. As the Director of Editorial Department in YME Malaysia, he joined the MSTC team with the hopes of working with talented Malaysian students from all over the globe. His aspiration for MSTC 2018 is to create a platform for STEM enthusiasts regardless of their background to interact with minimal formality. This motivation stems from his observation that technology or at least educational gatherings are often in a sense "unapproachable" for the general public due to its prestigious branding. Besides being a fan of photography, he is also a fan of Anton Bruckner's symphonies!
